Martine drove us through the Pyrenées into Spain, this morning. We explored San Sebastián and then had tapas for lunch. It was fun to try out our Spanish. We found a great ice cream shop and also bought some souvenirs. From there, we went back into France and spent some time in Saint Jean de Luz. This town is famous because it is here that Louis XIV married Eugenie of Spain, forming the Peace Treaty of the Pyrenées. Lastly, we went to ...

... every day. Lots of fun! We have been in France for just under a month and have been to some of the most amazing places...some of which we probably wouldn't have visited if we didn't have a car. The towns are so beautiful, the people are super friendly, wine and beer is cheap (yippee) and of course the food has been amazing! We throughly look forward to the possibility of coming back in a month or so to inhale more baguettes, croissants, fromage (cheese) chorizo and ...

We took a breather in this all too fun day for a coffee, still hoping the jewelry store opposite would open... but after waiting through the time it should have pulled up its shutters, we left disappointed, ...

... the best located accommodation. It may mean use of beach showers and toilets (that clean themselves after EACH use??) but its a good trade for location. We've had a laugh meeting lots of people mainly older, who like us to check out their set ups (huge!!!) and happy to pass on advice for the trip ahead. After eating a lifetimes supply of baguettes, seeing plenty of French beaches and a lack of French beachwear, we're looking forward to crossing the border later this week into ...

... some lovely mountain ranges informed us there was a boat festival on. We still had no idea what kind of a festival it was but we hit the streets shortly after arriving so we could see the beachside, which looked amazing from the taxi.

The photo of the beach tells a lot more effective description than I could ever articulate and we were mesmerized! There were people and boats everywhere, helicopters buzzing by and we even saw some dragon ...
