Safe to say jet lag is over! Thank god.

I went to bed early (by 9pm) but sadly we both woke up at 2:30 am wide awake!!! Jimmy was able to get back to sleep within 30 mins but it wasn't the case for me. I tossed and turned until 3:30 when I went to get some pita bread and cheese from the fridge and sat up and read until 4:30 am. I finally did fall asleep and slept in until Jimmy woke me at 9:40 am! ... accept for the head lights. Then we pulled up in a dark corner at the back of the bus station and they told us we were there! We were sceptical however, but we went up some steep steps and found cafe Em!! "the cave". Everything was shut up and quiet so they turned on the lights and some fans in the cafes outside seating area and told us we could sleep there. ... turned into a pedestrian area, and the upmarket shops – every expensive brand has an outlet here – are not exactly teeming with people. The old Beirut souk received a make-over, too, and has been turned into a modern shopping mall, retaining only the names, but none of the atmosphere of a real souk. It is not very busy when we visit on a Friday afternoon, and it doesn’t seem like turnover is high. But it looks beautiful.
