we' arrived at our hotel around 10 pm, everyone ws pretty exhausted after the long flight and what was normally a 1 hr drive from the airport turned into 3 hours because of the start of a big tourism festival of some kind. We got to see fireworks over the city, that was kind of neat. The airport is very modern, clean, efficient. we weren't allowed to take pictures of anything inside the airpoirt. suzhou is the home of our guide, eugenia ( her real name, her father was a profesor of English) s...

... and taiwan was longer than that.
i said i haven't traveled too much this year. the only trip i took was to go to thailand. and y'all never told me i needed the boarding passes to get a reimbursement that is clearly stated in the contract. i asked about other receipts. i've got plenty of medical receipts. she said they're going to have to be traveling ones. i said does it matter if they're not in rmb? i found some rail passes/receipts ...
... a couple of things once i'm officially back on us soil. first is a job. like everyone else, this 30% unemployment rate is scaring the bejesus out of me. i've heard that nola hasn't been too bad but i'm not sure if i'm ready to go back to dead-end jobs. but beggars can't be choosers, right?
another thing that's been bothering me is the time warp. i've been away from home for two years. more if i consider new orleans to be my home. but anyway, two years away from america is a long ...
... refreshing experience in my opinion. I mean, most years i do the routine two family dinners, both a little boring and containing not near enough booze to get me through happy and content. Also you could never play a decent game of Trevors Ass at a family dinner haha. Trev i'm hoping you'll read this because then at least one person will get my joke! But anyways, great night, great company, and great laughs =).
Happy turkey eating!

... The area originally had a temple, and only the pagoda is left from it now. The pagoda is well over a thousand years old and quite beautiful. The entire area has been turned into a scenic spot. It is large and very nice. There are many gardens, pavilions and ponds scattered throughout the area. It is a very nice place to stroll and relax. I had been there in 2005 and some places ...
Suzhou, China scottshangguan... is now. The garden is separated into three principal parts, east, central and west. The eastern section has colourful flowers but is of less interest than the other two.
We enjoyed a cruise on the one thousand year old Grand Canal then went to an embroidery workshop and had lunch at a nearby restaurant.
That night we took a taxi to a shopping area and checked out the local shops, found a KFC and had a burger for tea.
... from Shanghai and known as a garden city. The traffic is horrendous and road rules are very limited, there are push bikes, motor bikes and scooters everywhere, helmets not worn and even the babies are taken on the bikes and held by a parent. Enjoyed a walk along the street dodging the bikes parked on the footpaths and taking our lives in our hands when we crossed the road, even when it's on a crossing with the green light.
Suzhou, Jiangsu, China christine.stone... exp bag is worth so many cheap flyff gold. 3 Be a patriarch of a family(the most crazy golds-gaining method). I guess that now the craziness of golds-gaining by a patriarch is well known by each player. A patriarch can use happiness token in the family senate mission. The effect of the token is that ...
Suzhou, Jiangsu, China shaoting... the side, not directly behind the other fingers (as I usu. think of chicken claws to be shaped). Ha. I just have a really hard time believing that this was a Chicken. With some good laughs, we left and headed to The Hair Salon, our hang out as of late. The Hair Salon is particularly amusing because Chinese hairdressers are really hilarious, and we are able to practice our Chinese with them. We went out for some Yang Rou Chuanr (M.S.G.-laden lamb ...
Suzhou, China jess.joy... Suzhou has been in the 80's and 90's since we were here. Technically it wasn't bad, and I guess anyone can get by, if necessary, without AC. But has anyone noticed the humidity? It can be a killer to someone who is not used to the weather, jet-lagged, culture-shocked, and almost illiterate in Chinese. Such is the case with Jeff. Jeff and his group came to Suzhou for a short-term language and culture study, and they are having a tough time ...
