Garden Hotel Bremen

Today we went to Bremen (Mason, Shawn, Steven, Soth, Dave and I). We took the 9:20 train from Braunschweig but 2 of the guys didn't make that one so we waited in Hannover for an hour for them to catch up on the next train. It was a 2 hour 20 minute total trip which was not bad.

... this area seemed like a **** hole. It was dirty and of course dark and cold. So after a few blocks I headed back to the train station to sit around and wait to call Norbert, a guy who works for our company in Bremen. While sitting in the train station I realized I could charge my phone off my computer with a cord that wasn’t built for my phone, so that was nice. ... cute. The centre has lots of old buildings that are pretty. It also has a area that has all little windy streets which is pretty cool. Oh yeah, Becks beer is also from this area and they have a brewery here,

I really have just wandered around the town and rested up as I needed a bit if a break before heading up to Scandinavia in the next few days. This was a nice little town to do that in - aside from the excessive rain today it has been pretty good.

tonight the university, Hochschule, arranged a party for all its study abroad members, some 100 people from over 20 nations. tonight my neighbor went home with some girl from Bulgaria... ... around for 2 hrs we stumbled upon an Irish pub and paid 4.10 euro for a perfect 42 degree Guinness.

after the beverage. we caught the second to last bus back to the hotel. all is well and the weekend plans to Dublin a shaping up. St James Gate here i come.

... the building, and we stopped into several "labors" (labs) so I could meet the scientists and students that work there. We also toured this HUGE refrigerator warehouse that was loaded with core samples from all over the world. I learned that worldwide there are three of these massive core depositories: this one in Bremen, another in Texas, and a third in Japan.The room is basically a Costo-esque warehouse that is beige, vast, and frigid (loaner jackets are kept on hooks by the door). We left Rhode Island on Saturday to go to Long Island for the night before my epic adventure. We stayed there for the night and embarked on our journey to Newark but stopped at Lafayette on the way.
