    ... it is doubtful. It is sunny with some clouds, but the temperature is currently 28 degrees. The snow "storm" has passed by though.

    Brrr! I will definitely bundle up today! Yesterday, Lisa, Nicco, and I took a 3.6 mile walk on a local trail, plowing through the snow, climbing 750 feet and being rewarded with spectacular views of the snow covered valley.

Apparently this castle originally belonged to the Benedictine Monks around 1250. Once again it was reinforced by Florence, to fight off Siena, only 20 Kms away.

    Today we travelled to Sienna. We left the cinque Terre and headed for Pisa (an hour and a half away) to take hundreds of very original photos of the kids pushing up the leaning tower!     We sped off to San Gimignano … and after difficulties finding parking space, we walked into the old town castle grounds. It was nicer than Certaldo’s castle. But the main drawback was that it was very, very crowded. A lot of tourists. But it’s a nice old town and very well kept. I’d recommend a half day walk around here for anyone visiting Tuscany.
