... fruit a go. I had seen this fruit on sale in the market but hadn’t known exactly what it was. It turned out to be sweet tamarind and came in a long brown hard casing. You cracked the casing and inside found a worm-like string of very sweet flesh enclosing hard black stones. It was rather good and tasted a bit like date palms.

I remembered this scenario from last year and also remembered that it had been possible to buy beer at the supermarket and sit and drink it outside. ... elephants bananas, a special treat they love! Using a scrubbing brush we then got to bath the elephants in the river, we didn't get much time for this but really enjoyed climbing up onto the elephant and being sprayed with water from its trunk and lying on the elephant giving it a scrub. Sally sat on the elephant's neck as it stood up from the water. Wonderful experience!! After a long day we had a swim and enjoyed dinner at our ...
