... I have to say, these elephants did appear to be enjoying the performance and they certainly enjoyed the masses of bananas being fed to them by the crowd. They were all in very good condition and put on an entertaining show for everyone from soccer, to basketball, throwing darts at balloons, painting, riding bicycles, ten pin bowling, hula hoops, ribbon waving, tickling people with their trunks and feet while the people lay on the ground (brave souls !!) and ...

... good sleep to Bangkok before grabbing a taxi another bus and a couple of Songthaew's to our hotel at Jomtien Beach near Pattaya. A Songthaew's is basically a pick up truck with bench seats in the back and bars beyond a large low tailgate so you can pack an incredible number of people on. They are cheap as and ply the road between the two beaches twenty four hours a day. It was a bit of a long haul but we finally settled into our room for a nap and a shower. Our place is called ...

... a random curry dish with rice (which tasted strongly of lemongrass and was totally delicious (probably the best thing I've eaten so far) for 50 baht. Also had 1/3 of a corn on the cob and 1/3 of some kind of curry wrap, shared with the guys. Then bought a bottle of what I though was beer (though at 600ml for 32 bhat and 8% alcohol it didn't quite fit the pricing of other beers, being cheaper. Turned out to be a weak wine type drink, all good though. ...

... up in the ice bar again where we met a Finnish man and ended up going back to the Rock bar for more drinks messy last night.

On our final day we were a bit tender and had a subway to cheer us up we then got a lift to the airport from Pauls mum, said our goodbyes and headed for the next part of our journey in Sydney!!

Pattaya was great, amazing food and nights out with great people!! loved it and i have a momento forever now in my tattoo!!

Monday was a lazy, lazy day spent in "Luton Town" attempting to make myself appear less transluscent than I do at present. As always I found that inactivity breeds lethargy and it again proved to be the case as I needed a couple of hour nap once the sun had made its usual departure at around 6:30.
