... build that was my big question??

On closer inspection this was certainly no small house and consisted of 3 or more floors and as it was half way up a cliff there was certainly no road that went up there unless it was within a tunnel.

Further up and right on the top of this cliff I noticed another strange shaped rock and on close inspection this rock turned out to be yet another very large building. This one appeared to be a upper cableway station or ...

... I travelled it during my 2012 winter adventure.

The waters of this dam today were extremely calm and the reflection shots of the cliffs opposite were simply stunning.

At the end of this large lake the road swings right and heads through yet another border post and on over the massive dam wall. Right in the middle of the wall are situated two toll booths. Drove to Toblach in the Dolomites and entered that fantastic National Park. Stunning ...

... remain in our hearts as our favorite European city. We were awed by the northern city of Bolzano and so thankful we got to experience the Dolomites. We were enchanted by the magic of the lakes, especially Lake Como, with low-lying clouds, misty mornings, twinkling evening lights. Everywhere, we were treated with kindness -- and treated to the most fabulous food, especially pasta, and wine.

    To enjoy all of ...

We both woke up feeling fairly average and as the visibility was low decided to do the dreaded laundry. What a palaver! It cost about €20 when it should have been a lot less as the instructions were confusing. After a long search for the best gelato in Bolzano- which was closed we settled for an early lunch and vino. Feeling better we tackled the oldest cable car in the world (1908) on the other side of Bolzano. The views ...
