... else to find it. It's a wonderful museum, newly built (in an old palazzo) and artistically arranged for a science museum. Venice has one dinosaur, and it's here. The fossils were found by a French team in North Africa, but the chief archeologist was Venetian, so it came to rest in Venice. The bones were lying undisturbed, partially covered by sand in the desert, so it's amazingly intact. It's displayed in a circular room with video of the actual dig and ...

We all put our bags in the back and got in the car. The car was spacious and had ...

The Italian food I had on the trip really was the best I have had in my life! I'm glad to know visiting Italy first hand and trying the food lived up to my expectations also.

The first evening in Venice we also experienced something a little unique. There was a high water warning. At about 11pm when we were all winding down for the ...

... salumi. Oh, and I had an awful Roman history class at Cal. IT was names and dates, names and dates. The professor addressed Caligula (or maybe it was Nero's) excesses in a one sentence toss-off along the lines of "And some say he had had some moral failings."

So, Venice. I only stayed two nights (which is going to be norm for awhile as
I sort of hit and run through places in Italy that I want to see, but not really linger in). I ...
