... me to use the term 'when in Rome' in a literal sense...trouble is, I don't actually know what that means beyond the figurative! What is it, exactly, that the Romans do that I should do 'when in Rome'? Accompanied the boat's chef to the Rialto market this morning as he bought the food (octopus) for tonight's dinner. ... out to the canal area for dinner. Had a great meal and it was about 11:00 pm. We had quite a time getting home......took over an hour. Once we got back into the back streets, there were very few people but we did manage a few late goers who eventually helped out. Today, we had a breakfast at the hotel and then headed to the vaporetto stations. We took a vaporetto to Murano Island where all the Murano glass factories are located. They moved the factories to ...

    Venice

Wednesday - had the whole day in Venice. So so hot! Started feeling sick too so spent the morning eyeing up every fountain and wishing I could jump in. But did a walking tour of Venice which was cool, then a glass blowing demonstration. Wandered around Venice for a while, awesome place. Bought some Venetian masks from Rialto bridge and leather purses for so cheap! Went inside St. Marks Basilica, ...
