    ... to accompany me inside the Basilica di San Marco. St. Mark – of gospel fame - is apparently buried in the crypt under there, which gave Olivia pause for thought. It gives me pause for thought, too.

    The 36 hour vaporetto tickets we purchased yesterday came in handy to help us avoid the crowded avenues of Venice, that is when the vaporettos weren't so full that we could use them.     Our flight arrived around 9:45 and after we went through customs and picked up our luggage, we bought tickets to take the Alilaguna boat from the airport to near our B & B. we got on the boat T 11:15 and got to see quite a bit as it stopped on Murano, Lido and around Venice.
