    ... free" taxi service to Murano so off we went. The "free" is that the hotel gets a kick back from the glass store that they drop you off at. Since we left the ship early we wanted to first get a bite and some coffee. This didn't sit well with the guy that met the water taxi but you win some and you lose We walked through Murano visiting all of the glass shops and factories. We purchased 2 pieces of glass that are being shipped back to us. Hope they arrive ...

    ... down to lunch which cost $50 for a couple of salads. That really capped off a stellar few days.

    I apologise for the excessive negativity in this blog but I felt I had to convey how bad of a time we had. It's a lovely place in 20 degree heat for 1-2 days max but for us we felt it really fell flat on all the hype it had received. Novelty factor - 10. Actual fun factor - 5. Lesson #32 - Don't stay at Camping Serenissima ever again!

    Our flight arrived around 9:45 and after we went through customs and picked up our luggage, we bought tickets to take the Alilaguna boat from the airport to near our B & B. we got on the boat T 11:15 and got to see quite a bit as it stopped on Murano, Lido and around Venice. We got off at our stop at 1:00, and it was a five minute walk to La Chicca where we will call home for the next three nights. Our hosts ...

    ... it. Walking is the way to get around Venice.

    I did see Saint Mark's square and it has the largest pigeon population I have ever seen. If you start feeding them bread they will literally land on your head. People actually seemed to be more excited about that than some of the costumes they saw.

    I haven't gotten to go to Pisa yet the timing just hasn't been good. It's a two hour train ride and I really need an entirely free day to go. ...
