... of the gang. Liesl had to return to reality, so off we went to find some lunch. It is difficult to seat 13 people and find something that everybody wants. So we split, again. My group found a little cafe right by the outdoor market. I had a mighty tasty prosciutto sandwich and split a gorganzola bruscetta with Laurel. With full stomachs we are once again ready to tackle the city.
Now to be uber tourists and see San Marco. ...

... s was as busy as ever but we got into the church queue quickly and Ken did a quick visit while I waited outside with my back pack! After sometime walking alleys and not caring if we got lost we took the vaporetta to the island of Lido and walked across to the beach..... Nothing to write home about. So except for finding a WI-FI cafe that served soy milk (an Italian first) there is nothing much to recommend ...

A travel blog entry by hudomagerstein on Sep 11, 2013

After we went to a Da Vinci exhibit and got some delicious gelato (choc chip and chocolate for me, chocolate and vanilla for Rob), we found ourselves at Ponte Dell'Accademia - one of the three bridges that crosses ...

The vaporetto are the buses (boats) here in Venice. Today I got a 12 hour pass to ride them, and saw some of the islands here and admired Venice from the water. I started off in heading to Murano (I love watching glass works). Most of the boats occupants stampeded off at the first stop in Murano, but I asked a nearby lady who may have been a local, and she suggested the next stop would be better so I stayed on the boat. So glad I did! After apprehensively reading reports ...

Our flight arrived around 9:45 and after we went through customs and picked up our luggage, we bought tickets to take the Alilaguna boat from the airport to near our B & B. we got on the boat T 11:15 and got to see quite a bit as it stopped on Murano, Lido and around Venice. We got off at our stop at 1:00, and it was a five minute walk to La Chicca where we will call home for the next three nights. Our hosts ...
