I think we were on the road before 08:00 this morning. We had a very short uphill section from our overnight stop to rejoin the delightful road which runs over the Cisa pass, and then we were on our way. Again there had been a lot of rain in the night (once more with thunder and lightening) but it had stopped by the time we emerged. From then the day just got better and better and ...

... Milan in the 19th century. It is now home to a series of museums and art collections. We passed through the central courtyard to and wandered through the extensive Parco Sempione, stopping to get up close to some local wildlife. Our driver found the Hotel Milano Navigli and quickly got rid of us as he didn't want to be seen in this graffiti covered area. (Milan embraces graffiti, goodness knows why.) No tip for you, as Julie considered him arrogant. We receive a warm welcome from Pipi the night manager who advises the mini bar ...

... It's impressive and this is probably the real Milan.

It's undergrundy cleaning day and so I spend an hour doing the washing...socks etc...I wont bore you with the details.

Milan is covered in graffiti....everywhere...the locals dont seem too bothered. We head to a cafe and have some past and watch the cars and motorbikes swerve past each other. It's good out in the suburbs....the real Milan
