With the offending parts in hand Sebastian had taken the bus into Bucharest, found a mechanic who had given him the new parts, driven him the 100km back to his disabled, disabled-mobility cart ...

... natte neuzen van de straathonden tegen mn dijbeen ;-) Voor we verder rijden ga ik op zoek naar de toilet en kan deze binnen nergens vinden dus in mn beste russisch vraag ik waar deze is en word na het nodige handen en voeten werk naar de tuin verwezen. Er staat een klein soort van schuurtje achterin de tuin met een deur half uit zn scharnieren en hoe dichterbij ik kom hoe meer bevestigd wordt dat ik daarbinnen moet zijn. ... Not the best water, but of course I wanna jump in and cool off. The days here are hot and sunny! In Tulcea we have to leave the van and jump on a hovercraft into the Delta. Together with a German couple, we are the only ones getting off in Crisan, a village: one lóng street along the waterfront. The next day we decide to join a Belgium group on a day tour into the Delta, sharing a boat with dry-humor guys, bird spotting, mosquito killing and lots of water lilies. Great to be ...

... Balkan music and dancing again) we had to take the ferry to cross the river. The crew wanted us to park in a normal car spot and as many of you know our van is not the kind of normal sized car…I think Angelique did very well but unfortunately she scratched the car of two ladies and that the whole ferry and surrounding heard loud and clear! Wwhaaahh, they were furious! They were from the police and we had to pay immediately, etc, etc. When everything was calmed ...

... dass das unter umstaenden sehr teuer werden kann und haben das deshalb auf eigene Faust geplant. Was immer noch recht teuer war.
In Crisan kann man sich prima privat ausleihen. Es gibt einen sehr netten Menschen - ich glaube er wohnt in Haus Nr. 81 - dort kann man ein Kanu fuer 20 Euro am Tag leihen.
Es gibt Pensionen vor Ort, aber man sich auch privat bei einer Fischerfamilie ...

... booking so that was our first priority. We found one fairly soon which is fairly new and not too far from the sights. Unfortunately the sights are pretty ordinary with only a few interesting buildings. Constanta has a huge port but it did not seem to be very busy. The city seems very run down and neglected and in also fairly expensive for accommodation. It is right on the ocean and there is quite a large beach (not very picturesque though) near our hotel.

... us we could actually go inside the wall and walk 360 degrees through it. So of course we did that. There are no lights, just the open windows that let in the sunlight, so it is quite dark in the walls. I thought it was pretty fun.

After Prejmer all we had to do was drive for a long, long time. We were heading to Constanta and it isn't that far (about 300km) but the roads here suck and so does the traffic so it took all afternoon to get there ...

At this moment, we don't know what to do next but most likely we will stay for some time with the bereaved family to support them through these difficult times. Thursday 2 August Woken by market my room overlooked so down for breakfast at 7. Quite nice breakfast served by battle axe who didn't look happy. Back to bed then met Julia on the terrace trying to find internet cafe but too much trouble so cycled towards border with lack of signposts so had to ask. Just before border found a cafe so had another breakfast of mushroom omelette. Over border getting told off for taking a picture as Romanians checked my passport. Found a war memorial ...
