Actually, it is a crowded isthmus with cars parked, market type stalls selling all the usual stuff: jewellery, shawls, leather goods, fake bags, fake scent... and one large stall which only had men's underpants. So useful.
Oh, and of course the ubiquitous piles of rubbish.

I visited my friend Yavuz, who returned recently from his work in Zelenograd, Russia for a quick vacation.
He picked me up Friday morning at the airport and the weekend beach action started.

Alanya Took on new passengers last night in Cyprus. The drill wasn't as successful this time, most of my passengers were so rude. I lost my name badge somewhere out on deck during the drill too! Hopefully I can get one with my real name on it this time. Opened for a few hours on the evening and just about made it back to crew bar for one drink. Found it really hard to get up when my alarm when off this morning, after almost a week of getting up ...
... in bed! The next day we opened the shops from 9 till 12... another short day! Then we went for a nice drink in the port of Alanya. It was such a pretty port, set into the cliffs, the Turkish style boats on the water, the castle on the top of the hill. But can't stay anywhere too long. Sailed again over night so worked a few more hours in the evening. Sea day tomorrow so 9am till 10pm won't get back to crew area till about ...
