... the marina, and since Jennifer didn't feel like walking she waved down a passing car. Much to our surprise, the young driver of the clunky car pulled over and offered us a ride. His name was Ionis and he was an electrician on the island. He was entertaining to talk to as well. We offered to pay him for the ride when we got down to the pier, but he would have none of it. When I was walking down one street into a large square of cafes I was taking a sip from my water bottle and slipped on a step almost going ass over tits but I managed to catch myself just in time spilling water all over my face and dress. One of the waitresses nearby saw everything ...

... ashore. Nevertheless, we are quickly on our way and anticipating what I believe will be a highlight of our trip. Once we dock, the only way is have three choices for the substantial up; walk up the stairs (I think they said there are 900), take the cable car or take a donkey ride. We opt for the donkeys and I am so glad we did. Quintessentially a part of this island and an unforgettable experience. There are a lot of donkeys for the purpose and they must get so tired ...
