Got to climb the small narrow staircase to the top of Wawel cathedrals bell tower today. Sigismund is the bell in the Wawel Cathedral, cast in 1520. It was cool to see the huge amount of wood structures in place to hold the 12.8t bell. We got a pretty nice panoramic view of Krakow from up here too which was cool. The Good, the Bad and the Struggling
... over an hour. We have seen huge crowds on arrival and were told that we will have to come after 3pm to the main camp if we are not on a guided tour. We went to the Birkenau in the meanwhile, a satellite camp which is much larger than the main one.

Back to the Salt Mines

Throughout the ages, the miner decorated the mine with different salt sculptures. The highlight of the whole tour was the giant underground church, cut out of salt, complete with small chapels, reliefs cut from salt, and even salt chandeliers.
Tomorrow, I am going on a Communism tour around Krokow before heading out on the night train to Budapest.

Krakow, the old town, is very old.
