People were dressed up everywhere like it was Halloween and we later discovered it was a carnival. Annissa tried the currywurst and I had a foot long bratwurst with fried potatoes and a creamy cabbage. The people next to us had pork knuckles and what must have been a 6 foot long bratwurst. We learned about the wine in the region and the difficulties of harvesting grapes on the steep hills. Later in the afternoon we had a tour of the kitchen. It is amazing that they produce all of this wonderful food in such a small space with a staff of 8. Loved every minute! A great day! On to ...

We left Bonn very early morning today and arrived in Arnhem. This wasn't a scheduled docking area but couldn't dock in Nijmegen as they were working on the docking area because of the flooding that had occurred. So we took a bus into the town of Nijmegen, a lovely city. I thought it was going to be just another. It's modern, of course, as this city had been bombed in the WWar II and nearly ...
