    ... guides and talent for entertainment and they are FAR better than some of the guides I've seen on other tours.

    After the tour we had the option to go back to the ship, or explore on our own. We chose to explore, starting with a lunch at Peters Brauhaus. Two other couples from the ship joined us, and we had some traditional German food as we all toasted with a "kolsch"...German beer! I loved the beer!!! I'm not a German food lover, but the pork and sauerkraut ...

    ... railings and parked along the street and at the station. People riding to and from work, shops, visiting etc. Even in business suits or dresses. Even on the phone, with no hands, or carrying all of the shopping home. Lots of customised bikes too... Prams or carts on the front, bikes with two seats and one set of pedals... Fun to see - and there is no dawdling - it's GO or STOP. We had to be very alert at the road ...

    After our tour, we met up with Chews and went to the Apothecary and then on to a restaurant for apple strudel. It was touted by the tour director as the best in Cologne, but Grandma Smith's was MUCH better. There were lots of apples and it was tasty but very doughy in my opinion...I like a flakey crust.

    ... a museum, but a family home of sorts, if you can call a castle which housed over a 100 family members requiring several hundred servants a "home." It really put things into perspective.

    Back to Bonn for a tour of the area, Boy drove up to a large conference center hotel which looked out over the Rhine River. The weather had turned cool and windy, but the view was spectacular anyway! On the way back home we stopped for dinner ...
