    ... down onto the water a mighty bang would be heard thought the ship. I was just hoping it was not going to break in half!!

    On leaving Venice I noticed guys down on the truck deck chaining down all the cars and trucks and now I realise why. If it was not for these chains then al these trucks would be all over the place and perhaps even in the water!!

    Despite all the rocking of the ship and the banging as things fell about on the deck I managed to have a good nights ...

    ... and than went back down to beach and got take out of greek salad and sausages from our lunch restaurant and chicken like the kind from the meat platter at the other restaurant. While we waited I had a Vodka Mojito and hubby had a coke and it was really nice. We took our take out home, ate and than I went to bed and hubby watched TV some. I put my earplugs in to fend off the barking dog again and read until I fell asleep.

    We only spent one night in Patra, because Dad was very tried from all his driving. But it was a nice city with lots of people and shops around. We ate Gyros and watched the World Cup, Greece won their game and there was shooting in the streets. We left in the morning and continued ...

    ... Ferries I. That is because said ship is old and only has the basics, such as cabins, aeroseats, a lounge and a restaurant. Other ships are more luxurious (for example the have a disco) and we expected to travel with one of those... We are teenagers after all...
    The journey to Bari wasn't good at all. The sea was rough and at some point you couldn't even walk in the ship. Not to mention sleeping... Some think that the waves serve as a lulaby, but not ...

    ... Well, no question then that that was the right bus. “If you get off where he gets off you will be ok”. Another Greek on his own started chatting to me and he had lived in Canada for 20 years and was back home to be close to his family and grandchildren. So a very pleasant start to my day out. We reached the town in an hour and I alighted with the driver. I was a little early for the first train out so had a coffee opposite in the café.
