      ... of land. After a short walk, a perv on the local fishermen and getting thoroughly lost we made it to Gytheio/Gythion/Gythio. Our camp for the night was beachside a 70’s shipwreck which had apparently run aground following a smuggling run amongst other tall stories. It now makes for a very photogenic spot.       The weather here in this bay was fantastic and was extremely warm. Fishermen were sitting on the pier with tents just fishing away in the heat. The gentleman to whom I was talking to tells me its even warmer down in Patras so here's hoping.

      Finally the trucks are off and its time to get going again. Most of the trucks that get off here head straight for the motorway and head for Turkey.

      ... some magnificent mountain and valley scenery, the best we have seen yet. As it was still relatively early there was mist in the valleys and this added a fairy tale aspect to the scenery.
      Ashleigh and I are sharing a cabin and the stars at 3am this morning were spectacular. It is very smooth sailing and there are other ferries, ships and boats around. Again the lights from these ships last night was beautiful. This afternoon we visit Olympia which we are looking forward too.

      ... the path. There were bats flying around and some really cool formations but the most spectacular part to me were the water filled parts filled with crystal clear, very cold looking water. Some parts looked so deep but so clear you could see all the way down. Unfortunately we couldn't take pictures in the cave but it's worth it to protect these treasures. It was beautiful.       We took a train to get to the coastal city of Patras in order to take a very long ferry ride to Italy. We got this pass called a Eurail Global Pass which allows us to take trains, ferries, and receive discounts for all countries who participate which is everyone we need except Poland, England, and Scotland. So this way we can take a free train ride to get to an almost free ferry to get to Italy! Yay for saving ...
