... if I was ok between coughing fits. Unfortunately his driving left a lot to be desired and after the scariest hour I’ve endured on the road we arrived at the hostel to find that we couldn’t pay. Apparently Italian taxis don’t accept visa (or any cards at that) and atms aren’t in abundance in small town Italy. Thankfully after a lot of confusion and some awkward Italian arguing, the owner of our hostel let us enough money to pay the taxi driver and finally go to ...

On Wednesday 26 March 2014 our departure from Patras to Bari was arranged. I am a student of the Model Experimental High School of Patras (which is one of the best in Greece). We had planned this trip to Rome several months before and the day of departure came we were more than excited. All we talked about during our classes was our impending excursion.

We met some fun Aussie girls and an annoying fellow from California who we got to spend nearly 20 hours with on our 30 hour journey to Rome. Patras was way nicer than Athens though, it had forests of lime and Orange trees, Athens had alot too but in the middle of the filth.

Our mini cruise was comfy but no beds we had to lay across chairs to sleep. But at least we got to watch Pitch Perfect!

... pool and wow what a view before off out to dinner. Another fantastic experience up many steps littered with diners at tables on cushions on the steps up , up to our restaurant. Delicious food .... Roasted courier te , fresh tomatoes and olives bread and dips unlimited wine and that was just the starters. Then the music and dancers started. Noisy busy fun night back to the pool bar to finish the evening. Trafalgar really know how to give us a good ...

    Getting to Italy (part one)

I chill in the hostel lobby until around 11am, when I realise that I have to take the metro to get to the stop where my 11.50 train leaves, at which point I hurry to the station. Two short journeys on different metro lines later, I'm at the correct station with time to spare. My Eurail pass activates without difficulty, and I get my ticket to Patras. Waiting for the train I realise Greek stations are short on both toilets and food that doesn't contain bread. Good thing ...
