The Mist Also Rises
... for St. Dimitris that most neighborhoods tend to have the day before and of a feast day. We stopped to grab some souvlaki and as I was taking a picture of the festivities, one of the men working at the souvlaki place stopped and let me take his picture. He ended our interaction by giving me a free cup full of loukoumades (a delicious Greek doughnut with melted chocolate drizzled on top). He was so sweet!

... I saw this guy barbequing huge souvlaki on the side of the street and I wanted a photo. So we decided to turn around and have lunch there. Mary had souvlaki and Troy had sausages that were both cooked on the barbeque and both meals served with chips. All good and then we set off and finally found we Moni Agiou Nikolaou but thought no point in going up because it shuts in 1/2 hr.

A truly inspiring experience..
... of some of them. Using only hand turned pully systems to hoist each rock to the 200metre top in some cases is truly mind blowing! Inside is another story again. Because of its isolation, the monastries are very original and hardly touched which makes for a fascinating trip.
There used to be 24 and now only 6 are accesible. Some extremely picturesque views and recommended to anyone! Our hotel was great, perfect location, very helpful and awesome breakfast to kick start the day!
