... looking forward to dinner at a local fish restaurant serving many traditional Greek dishes, it is located almost next door to us so not far to go.
Next day Mon 2/6/14 dinner at the local restaurant was amazing in the very traditional Greek way.
After our starter with fresh octopus Roger had the stuffed tomato & capsicum I had the hearty Lamb from the oven.

Today we woke up to another beautiful morning with the sun shining and it was 31 degrees. We went and had buffet style breakfast of bacon, eggs, sausages, mushrooms and orange juice followed by fruit and cereal.

When staying in Fira, rather than day tripping as the passengers of the cruise ships do, you almost become a part of the neighbourhood, which is a most satisfying feeling, making you feel very welcome. Giant cruise ships anchor in front of Fira most days, with their names including Mein Schiff, Iberia and the American Holland Line giving a clue to the nationality of their passengers. They spend time being transported on small boats ...
... in while enjoying the view. I drank some wine while I took in the view and read - I ordered a half carafe of wine as it was only 4.40 Euros, but this turned out to be half a litre! I thought it would only be 2 glasses' worth. I couldn't finish it, anyway. Then I went and found a good vantage point to watch the sunset, which was very pretty, and everyone clapped when it had gone over the horizon.
