... rest of the week with the thought that we had the car so it could be anywhere on the island since we weren't dependant on bus routes. As it turned out we ended up in the exact same town we had lunch in the day before! The hotel was actually just a room in an all inclusive resort so on the plus side there was a pool and lots of activities but on the negative side it was pretty smelly and we did have a bit of a cockroach incident*. ... The islands are getting ready for Carnaval which starts this weekend. We found the main shopping mall areas with many shops and restaurants, and yes, weird people! We drive onto the cable car which we take to the highest point (xxxx ft) just a 150m below ...
A relatively early start by 10.00 to arrive in La Laguna in time for the start of the local football match between. La Laguna and Lanzerote. It's in a much larger stadium than last week and the football is of a better standard, a league above, but it lacks the local atmosphere, the result 2-1 to the home side is a fair result. We wander back into town and explore the old capital. It has some fine 18th century buildings set in a perfect grid so flat and easy to follow! We stop ...
