    Jungle Trek in Koh Kong

A travel blog entry by niomioconnor on Jul 04, 2014

Today us four and Steven, the guy we were introduced to at dinner last night, all went on a day long tour to Koh Kong's jungle. We were picked up in the morning by the tuk tuk, which took us to a small harbour where we got a boat, which took us across a big lake surrounded by mangroves and other greenery. We then started our trek through the jungle, in the pouring rain, we were soaking wet and crawling, ...

In front of my tent the family father sometimes builds a log fire. He has long black hair with a matching beard. He has a gentle face which he decorates with wooden jewellery. It has ...

    ... birthday supper.

    May 22, 2013

The ocean is really rough today so it will be an interesting boat ride. During breakfast we watched the crew try and get our but ready in the swells. The rudder broke off and it took a them a while to get it back on. We were supposed to leave at 9:00 but didn't get going until 11:00. To get in the boat we had to walk out in the ocean thru waves over my head and try and keep our gear from getting ...

... Kood. We couldn’t have asked for better weather, the sea was like a mirror. Serene all but disturbed by a few minor ripples with reflections of the clouds made out like a watercolour painting. As we approached Koh Mak, the island before Koh Kood, the sea started to change into the most incredible colour of turquoise, crystal clear, you could see the bottom of the ocean. Heaven on earth. The speed-boat journey was fun, we zipped across the sea at lightning speed and had time ...
