Sometimes in the dead of night, I awake shivering, covered in cold sweats, all from a re-occuring nightmare. Picture it, we are in our camper, the Chookmobile, it's 1998, and as we enter Oporto, cobblestones everywhere. The roof starts jumping about, Lucy dives into the back to hold it down, and all we could do, was to drive out the otherside and onwards to a new location. Back in July, we went to Evora, and afterwards, I made a promise to you all that we would return. Once back in London, I ...
Porto, Portugal uncle_davros... has been jumping up and down since we decided to go to Portugal because he was so excited to get his hands (and his mouth) on some Portuguese food. Well he wasn’t disappointed. First of all, the food is so inexpensive. None of our meals have been over 10 Euros each. The food is delicious. Pork, Chicken, Seafood. It’s all cooked wonderfully and comes with rice, fries, a small salad and a drink. Chris has been enjoying the Sumols which is an orange ...
Porto, Northern Portugal, Portugal ktchris... say I looked ridiculous.
Things went well with checking my bag, although I admit I was a bit unnerved when the guy in front of me got pinned with 180 euros in extra fees (but I no longer minded how ridiculous I looked). The flight was generally better than I thought it'd be, as it was a nice plane, and not as cramped as I had imagined. What I didn't really expect though was the absolute bombardment of advertising for the entire duration of the flight. The ...

It really is a shame we already booked our flight to France from Porto. We could have easily stayed an extra week in Portugal, there is so much to see here. But we did pretty good with our 2 days in Porto. It's right on the river and the ocean, and on one side of the river are tons of cute, old tiled homes, that look across to the other side of the bank where all of the old Port ...

The next day we hit the road to Porto which was a substantial drive of about 5-6 hours. Luckily this is the day the weather decided to turn, so the bad weather was endured from the comfort of the car. We arrived late to Porto and checked into our less then elegant hostel. Our meal was no better. We ...
Definetely the nicest city of portugal..the river, the bridges, the old colorful houses, cozy feeling everywhere in the town, hilly countryside which reminds me home..the coolest part: drinking coffee is almost a ritual..for people from bosnia&herzegovina who have to learn how to drink a coffee in at least 2 hours if they want to have a social life, it just feels good and homy, don't miss it
Porto, Northern Portugal, Portugal lamija... is so small everything is on a much smaller scale than in Canada. With no reservations in advance we hiked the streets until we found something within our budget - £35-£40 - itºs become a game and kind of interesting as to what we are able to find. Within 45 minutes we unloaded the backpacks and started exploring Porto. OH MY GOSH - we thought Lisbon was interesting - Porto took our breath away with the amount of historical buildings, colours and the fact that the old city is ...
Porto, Portugal travelmenu... along the river and a liter of Sangria - it was excellent - very reminiscent of the great Sangria we had in Barcelona. I'm not sure if it helped or hurt our climbing - but we seemed to have survived. We then caught a taxi and had him take us first back to the hotel to pick up our luggage and then to the train station for our 4:45 train back to Lisbon. I think the average age of the taxi drivers is 70 and they drive like maniacs on those narrow, steep ...
