This morning we drove through Slovenia's only National Park. The park covers a few mountains near the Slovenia, Italy, and Austria borders. The road over the mountain contains 50 switchbacks/hairpin turns; that doesn't count other turns, just the severe ones! Grant, had the pleasure of driving with other drivers who like to use both lanes, along with motorcycles, ...

Today we picked up a rental car and headed for the mountains! As with many rentals, we got something bigger than we reserved because that was what they had...it's not too big though, and so far it has treated us well. Blake worked with the local 'monk' to bottle some wine, including filling the bottle, adding the cork, dipping the neck into beeswax and signing off on the certificate of authenticity. We had a few drinks and some ice cream at the castle cafe before heading back down the ...

    ... I won’t forget in a hurry that’s for sure.

As much as I enjoyed the horse trek, the heat of the day was beginning to creep up on us and we were glad to be deposited safely back on the ground and taken back to Bled.

The bum ache as I’d been warned of was pretty epic from having been parked on a horse for the last two hours but, unperturbed, we had a quick lunch before having a leisurely stroll round the lake to our next destination, Bled Island. ...
