      ... years old and some smaller ones 3 and 4 years old. They are indeed quite formidable and they do have forked tongues. In fact I was so set on getting photos of the flickering tongues I don't think I have a photo of the length of the dragon! Hopefully Gary has some.



      Just the brief daily history lesson on the island and the Komodo dragons...which I have to say I hadn't known about before this trip. Nice to ...

      ... some really nice photographs on exhibition available for purchase but all in all it wasn't as impressive. From here we headed to Pasar Baru, a shopping street around the corner but we didn't do much except walk through with nothing jumping out at us. Hoping to get out of the city we headed for Barivita or the old town which was located near the harbour. It took a train ride out but it is pretty accessible - en route to the train we walked past children playing on garbage hills ...

      ... IDR60,000 for a t-shirt. After dinner we went to the famous Potato Head Beach Club for drinks, it is a remarkable piece of architecture. The outside is made up of iron window shutters formed to create a U-Shaped building, and once I walked up the ramp into the main reception section of the club my jaw dropped.
