... myself through and all the grieving. I can't help but think that my brain prolonged that. Always takes me 3 times as long as it should to get over things. I have been a fool for a pretty face and notions of love. Goodbye Puerto Rico. Hasta luego. 5ish... There is a couple here on the plan with a child. They haven't said one word to each other or their kid. He's good looking and in great shape. She is out of shape and slightly piggish looking.

Leaving Dominica

... I'll get int SJU tonight at 8. Get my bag (hopefully) and then find a motel room. Tomorrow I need to find a proper present for Devon's birthday. I'm on a flight that makes you have to stop at Antigua and Tortola, so I assume by the time i get in at 8, i'll be tired. Not to mention hungry. Other than that, all is well. Not sure what this trip will ultimately mean to me.

I need a nap. 8 pm I am now at my homestay. I'm thinking maybe I'm not the girl I thought I was. Let's just say the standard of living is *significantly* lower. I ...

Dominica - Highly Underrated!

... about 15 minutes before he was to meet up with us....So we then needed to find a cab driver that would accomodate our schedule. Fortunately for us, we ran into the port "Pit Boss" (my nickname:-)) Job. He was a great guy, who was obviously well respected by all of the cab drivers in the area. He hand picked a cab driver for us - Llyod, that honored the price we had previously arranged ($140 for 4 of us for the day). Job ...

Dominca

... We were a mix of nationalities (American, English, French and German) but as we scrambled up the slippery rocks all the Americans simultaneously said 'Never in the States would this be permitted.' as we yanked each other upwards. We didn't sign waivers but that concept doesn't exist in Dominca. After an hour we finally arrived at the falls for our swim and getting right up to them took a lot of thigh power. Some went behind them and dived off rocks but we were all in ...

Dear Blog,

This morning, we arrived at the island of Dominica at 8:00am. Since the tour was starting at 9:00am, we had ample of time to get ready. Like usual, we had breakfast, buffet style, on the 16th deck in the Caribe Cafe. The servers were pleasant and ready to serve us coffee or juice.

From our seated table, we could see far away the island greeting us as the ship made its way slowly through the ...

... roads up the mountain. We had a very nice and informative tour guide - I don't remember her name but she is one of the Carib Indians who still live on the island (which is awesome). She said that there are about 3000 Carib Indians who still live on the island following their own traditions and customs.

The island of Dominica is such a great beauty - lush greenery everywhere! The next part of my adventure.

... my foot. After that I could not get back to sleep. I will be up early tomorrow and will not get home until way after dark. It is good to go right to sleep after a long day. The nights are almost as hot and muggy as the days are. The hottest month is coming up in Oct. CAN NOT WAIT > LOL! Cannot wait until it cools down just a little. I am sweating up a storm and have to change my clothes twice a day. Well that's all for now. Well that is it for now!

... waiting. After the sun and crowds (and the fact that all I could see of the parade route was the back of people's heads), we turned back in search of at least one of three things: shade; seats; something cool to drink. We lucked out and found a small bar on the route and ordered three cool ones, grabbed chairs and waited under the awning. Perfect. And when the parade bits made it to our spot, we were actually able to see them. After our day of patiently ...
