Fortunately for us, we ran into the port "Pit Boss" (my nickname:-)) Job. He was a great guy, who was obviously well respected by all of the cab drivers in the area. We were a mix of nationalities (American, English, French and German) but as we scrambled up the slippery rocks all the Americans simultaneously said 'Never in the States would this be permitted.' as we yanked each other upwards.
