... temples. If you are interested in learning about this faith, it is a never ending task with responsibilities that fall directly upon the pupil. This does not mean you cannot solicit help or advice from the temple or its inhabitant. Its just that a temple stay is far from the schooling I had envisioned.
From mere observation, I already have a deeper perception of the men (and women) who live, learn, and strive for enlightenment under the guidance and teachings of the Buddhas.
... with the desire to get established as both an ESL teacher (which I very much consider myself a professional ESL teacher) and as a church worker (which I very much desire to give my life to God). As far as ESL work, Korea is definitely the place to begin that career! Working in a church, I guess, you can consider my volunteer work and ESL as my profession. Something like that. No matter what, I hunger to give my life to God and ...
Incheon, Korea Rep. christensenlow... aunt's work, dropped off our luggage then went out for a local bite to eat. We ended up finding a chicken place that served grilled chicken. They gave us side dishes one that tasted like caramel apple with a cabbage crunch to it and a very vinegery radish. The chicken we order was very delicious and we couldn't finish it all so we took it with us ...
Songdo-Dong, Incheon, Korea Rep. azianshrimp... and literally just throw all our stuff right in the Hotel lobby. Check-in isn't for a few hours and all so then its off to walking around. Now this trip is probably just gonna be a long list of "Firsts" for me, so here we go first: plane ride, Subway, and even Taxi. I know i know. So we got on the subway, not bad, then went to bupyeoung, to walk around in the market, which I must say is pretty awesome, well ...
Incheon, Korea Rep. mhubbard008... shopping area would be like in the orient. You can get everything you want at South Gate Alley. Our time was over and we had a long drive back to the ship thru evening rush hour traffic. I say long in that I was told it was long. When we arrived, I mentioned that the ride back was shorter that the one going and I was told that was because I was awake durning the morning trip. So it was a great tour in which I learned, toured, ate, bought, and even slept. We enjoyed this taste ...
Incheon, Korea Rep. danharriet... that I brought three large suitcases as I had to roll them up a huge hill. I met a bunch of interesting folks that came from different parts of the world including South Africa, Australia, and different parts of the U.S. I even met several people from Texas. One guy said this is his second year and he was able to save about ten grand while getting paid 2 million won. He mentioned that he ate out every day (most Korean foods are between 2000-5000 won = 1.5-3 dollars ...
Seoul, Korea Rep. koreanchick80... time, otherwise you have to wait about 3 minutes for the freaking light to change! The school is under construction right now, but it is pretty modern and there is a teacher's lounge with computers for us to use. That is where I am right now. Today is Saturday and I met with the vice director, Christine, to get my lesson plans and to tour the other school building. My school, SLP, has two floor in one building and one floor in a building down the street. One building ...
Seoul, Korea Rep. april.abate... of glasses, shooter glasses, and straws. The tower was soaked in some sort of flammable alcohol on paper napkins. The bartender then swilled some strong **** and blew a big fireball from his mouth that tore though the very place we were standing moments prior before being ushered out of the way. The tower erupted in flames and paper fell on the ground on fire. We stomped it out as best we could. Once our fire fighting duties had been fulfilled the shots that had rested ...
Seoul, Korea Rep. morpheous... was very proud of myself and will celebrate with pizza flavoured cheetos... These people leave the Americans in their dust when it comes to junk food. I keep meaning to take some piccies to load into the blog, maybe I should hurry up and do that because apparently North Korea is threatening to turn South Korea 'into debris'.... Doesn't seem to be scaring anyone here though. Stay well all
Seoul, Korea Rep. linkspurr... twice we begin to move with the same tide. I make jokes they can't understand, I know this, but the way I say things and over annunciate makes them want to repeat and what do you know? they're saying flamingo instead of plamengo. Thank you to every-one reading this and for giving me the encouragement I need. I wish I was more self-reliant but then I wouldn't be human. Much love and safe travels... peace
