... Buddha, it just had to be the first proper stop on our Chinese itinerary. Our ride into town gave us an introduction to Chinese motoring, horns must be beeped every 15 seconds to remind fellow road users that you are there, a mere visual presence is seemingly insufficient; pedestrian crossings, lanes, traffic flow and one way systems have little meaning but everyone seems pretty happy to share the road – truckdrivers, taxis, cyclists, motorcyclists ...
... the right direction. After about 40 mins I asked these two lovely young girls who are stenographers at the local hospital and they offered to walk me straight to the post office. When we arrived I was so grateful but in typical Chengdu style they officer who deals with international post had gone home for the day and the other officers wouldn't do it!

... of buses. They are all parked tightly against each other and constantly dropping and picking people up. It is official, the Chinese are not bad drivers, they are incredibly talented and ballsy. We hopped on the bus and rode it about 20 minutes to downtown. When we arrived we saw our first Chinese police. They were ******. Fuming even. When they finally decide to react they go all out. Right outside the bus stop 3 cars, 2 scooters, a van and probably 10 cops ...
