... t want to be on a PLANE tomorrow with gastro issues...or ANY issues that is. I skipped all the shellfish and any noodles. It was hard to say goodbye again this year. Fiona, my teaching assistant, said to me, "I just loved your voice for singing and reading stories. I really like your type of voice, it was so very enjoyable." HA! ... stepping back and looking in. I am savoring so much of life instead of jumping in and getting lost in the shuffle of craziness. I only have to 'B'! LOL Savor, savor, savor. In my time here, I may not have made everyone understand the importance of teaching and allowing children to think...but I sure as heck showed them the importance of smiling! ... fresh. Watermelon and cantaloupe and plump bananas that taste a sweet I’ve never had always hit the spot.

And lychees. Fresh ones that are less than three days old? Divine! My students know that I love them, so I have a constant supply of them that I’ve been sharing! They’ve been trying to get me to eat longquans, a smaller lychee-type of fruit, but I always go back to my true love, lychees!

... after they had to do two weeks in the summer! Mr. Lu was so cute and spent at least a paragraph apologizing that he could not provide us, the SABEH teachers, with everything we needed and wanted. He IS the kindest, sweetest man. And really...the protocols for being a host in China are pretty strict. We tell him that we are fine and not to worry, but he won't hear it! One more run in China in the AM...sure as heck won't be running the ...
