    ... It is also a lovely part of town, with some amazing architectural buildings around, as well as some of the prettiest cafes and boutique hotels in the city. The people watching was as fun as the craft watching.
    We had read that the nearby Curtis School of Music, apparently one of the most prestigious in the country, had a free graduation recital at 3 pm, so that was our next stop.

    Up early today, need to get some washing done otherwise we will have no socks or underwear! Weather somewhat unpleasant, RAIN but no snow, however a considerable temperature improvement at 3 degrees. Found a Laundromat not far from the hotel called Zanussi at 750 10th Avenue so not too far away, so ff we go.     ... the Chelsea Market but the storm clouds were brewing and it had started to rain. I had left without enough clothing and no umbrella.     ... so loud, we couldn’t hear the soft dialogue in parts of the show, but it’s a musical and it didn’t ruin the show. Several years ago we stumbled onto this Brazilian festival and it was quite small. This time they blocked off about 5 blocks of 5th Avenue and a few side streets!
