... afternoon we went to a place called Perouges a Medieval town that was truly spectacular. There are approx. 200 people that live there year round and they receive 3 TV stations and do not get internet. Poetic justice, the Three Musketeers was filled here and I got my Three Musketeers chocolate Bar today.This was an optional tour and well worth the 49 Euros ...

Such a lovely morning that we delay setting off and have a potter around Besancon. It is a really charming town and we will definitely come back again. ... a single Inn with a few rooms.  It was where a Queen Margo was banished to back in the 15 century or so by her brother (check wikipedia if you want proper facts). It was another fun town to walk through and see the old churches and structures.  A small hike to the top and you were with a huge statue of Mary and her baby on the hill top - which can be seen for miles when driving around the region. We had farewell dinner with (of course) Baked Alaska as the dessert finale! It was delicious! They also served all a shot of bourbon... of which dad commanded "No sipping! Throw it all back!" haha so the four of us took our first family bourbon shot together!




Then it was time to pack everything up and prepare for departure tomorrow! More pictures below!!

... been more beautiful! Hardly a cloud!

We had to be back on board by 2:30 for departure and continuation down Le Rhone. We traveled down some Locks which are incredibly cool!! It is not only a feet from an engineering standpoint, but also from a maneuvering stand point by our (very cute!) Captain! A detailed video will come a bit later!

The rest of the day was spent laying around and reading... resting ...
