We arrived late last night after a very long day in the air, but were greeted at the Airport by Dewa, our Driver for the week. He brought us bottles of chilled water and took us directly to the Resort, so we could go to Bed. The Pool Villa is Amazing. We are going to try to attached some photos, we will see if it works. Buddy is having a great time and making lots of new friends. We going to do some Spa time today, then off to some shopping. Thanks for enjoying our trip with us. Scott and Ilona
Ubud, Bali, Indonesia icoffeyGood Morning, we are rushing to meet our driver so this will be very short. We are off today to do some sightseeing with Dewa our driver. We are having a great time and wanted to just share a few photos with you. Love, Scott and Ilona
Ubud, Indonesia icoffeyWell, we are waiting for Dewa, our driver to pick us up for our last full day in Bali. We are going to be looking at some carvings and some glass today, hoping to find a craftsperson that can do the gate we want for the house. I have had a great time shopping and seeing how busy and productive everyone is here. They are sweet people and have been very kind to us. Scott has had a great time too, and we have had some wonderful meals. The country is so beautiful, and rich with culture. We are ha...
Ubud, Indonesia icoffeyKL Airport -> Bali Aug 6, 2004 After a minor bus breakdown in the Cameron Highlands I reached KL safely in under five hours. The bus ride was along a one lane road (in places) so the car/bus/motorbike horns became a key instrument for driving. The mountainous road finally dumped us onto a major highway leading to KL. I was quickly reminded of just how immobilizing the heat can be in KL and sought indoor a/c as much as possible. I stayed in a small room at a Hostel in Chinatown for $15 sinc...

It is already 2 pm by the time we make it as far as the spa. We both try a massage, seaweed scrub, yogurt cleans and rose petal bath for 1 & 1/2 hours at $18 it is a bit on the expensive side but comes recommended. Tthe grounds have medicinal plants growing that are ...
... ages in a clearing all playing and providing some great photo opportunities. Most of us tourists had backpacks for cameras, but the monkeys could sense which people had food, and the couple with the bananas made for easy pickings when a young monkey scrambled up the ladies leg onto her back, opened the bag, dug in and found the plastic bag and removed the bunch of bananas. Other monkeys did the same to other people who had food hidden or not ...
Ubud, Bali, Indonesia kingsandems... my face within minutes. Even when I lay out in the middle of the day here at my Ubud house, doing completely nothing but laying and sitting sit, I've had puddles of sweat gather on my face and stomach. No ocean breeze protects us here. I got back just in time for a very quick shower before the children arrived. I wish I could say they looked eager to learn, but in reality, they seemed more tired today than anything. Maybe all the ...
Lovina, Bali, Indonesia snclark8As much as I love Ubud, it has been discovered by tourists. To escape the crowds I found a smaller village about a 30 minute walk away. To protect its identity, I've given it a pseudonum - Not Ubud. Not Ubud is peaceful, quiet and surrounded by rice fields. Every night, I go to sleep with a chorus of crickets, frogs and geckos. Sometimes heavy ...
Ubud, Indonesia eric... local villages...the kids would run out to sday hello and high five you... they were really sweet and we had lots of fun talking to them... we stopped along the way to see some ironmongers making knives which must be hard work in the heat of this country...3hours later we finished and had a beautiful meal full of Indonesian delights. Cycling is a great way to see the country and local life... well worth the money. Anyway we best get going....speak to you in Australia!!!!!!!!!
Kuta, Bali, Indonesia ouradventures08... is rang and they show up from nowhere! We walk over the road to a 'beach'. It is black gravel. The beach itself is big pebbles. Hard to keep your balance on. From there, you put on your equipment and walk into to the water. The Liberty is supposed to be 40m from the shore. I guess: 40 touristy meters which equals 60m. The first dive IS the wreck. I am an instant fan. The Liberty became part of the ocean and is completely integrated in the ...
