... a bit out of the way for getting to Salzburg but many pretty scenes, houses and mountains were evident on the road there. This little town is very pretty indeed – high, snowy mountains and a great big lake. Plenty of pretty little houses also. We had a good walk around – took plenty of photos including a funny one of Craig wearing an interesting hat – he looks so much like Poppa in that photo. Only bad thing was that ...

We all got the Weinerschnitzle, Larry and Erin got potatoes and Derek and I got Gemuse (veggies). And of course we all had beer, mine a radler. Eagle's Nest part of the Obersalzberg complex built high above Berchtesgaden, Germany that was used as the southern ...

... get out into the open. When we did we noticed that more clouds had rolled in over the mountain making the view less good. We had a great view of the longest glacier in the eastern Alps, but not for long if it keeps melting. We also noticed that if we continued much farther up the trail we would lose the good views for a long time, so we went back. We thought we might ride the funicular down to the river and lakes created by the melting glacier but ...

... the fabulousness that was the bus trip, I have to take a moment to describe the world's worst woman. Cheryl and I loaded our lugged into the underside of the bus and as I was loading our luggage, this elderly Austrian woman began grabbing Cheryl's camera and bag out of her hands and motioning for Cheryl to load her bag for her. I immediately reached for her bag, hit my head on the open bus door for the luggage area, and almost dislocated my shoulder. The bag must have been ...
