From the first day we heard about family stay, we were all so nervous and scared, we just thought what have we got ourselves into! From the first day we arrived we had this warm feeling that took all that negative thoughts we had away. We were very thankful of our 'late' start this morning. For the first time I actually woke to my my alarm, much better than stirring at 5.30! This allows for a relaxing breakfast and a little time to reflect on our day ahead. We joined a music and an art class this morning. Both have a very formal lesson structure, the different components are not so dissimilar to ours - very clear introduction, explicit teaching, application to task, sharing followed by some type of 'real life ...

... out, cooking, relaxing, etc. We finally finished with the Garden of the Master of the Nets. Another of the famous gardens of Suzhou. A number of interesting buildings surrounding a large pond. The names given to the buildings in various places are interesting - the Beauty Within Reach Tower, The Five Peaks Library (named after the rock formation displayed near it), The Moon Comes With The Breeze Pavilion and so on. Some of them are obvious to us, others need a LONG explanation. ...

... off, yet again, in search of a camera for Greg. Billy had told us it was five minutes walk down the main road. Each person they asked (Billy had written out where we wanted to go in Chinese) kept pointing further along the street. Almost 1/2 hour later the last request pointed to the building behind us.
