I loved Tokyo... wandering down back streets and finding cheap things to buy. The food permanently displayed in plastic replicas of the dish it represented. The way all the traffic stopped and the intersection was then swarmed with pedestrians going every which way!

... me. There was a big contrast in weather between Tokyo and Fukui, sun and blue skies vs. cloud and snow. There was 6 inches of snow in Fukui which made the view out the window of train beautiful. Fukui is another small prefecture on the Japan Sea and it is just north of Kyoto. Fukui is famous for Echizen crab and that what we were looking for for lunch.
