... you know what you're getting! The next day we rented bikes again. We went to the Imperial Palace for a tour. For this you have to apply prior to visiting, it's a free tour. It was neat to see the inside and learn more about it. We were riding our bikes when it started to rain. We rode our bikes in the rain along the river and it was fun!! To end our day we went up the Kyoto Tower for a night view of the city! The next day we ...

... to the mountain had been closed, the cruise and cable car were closed due to unsafe conditions. We at least had a nice lunch. After taking us up to another, lower mountain lift that was still being run, the tour guide tried to describe how beautiful Mt. Fuji is when you can see it. (It is amazing, Mt. At Kawaguchiko Station, I was about to call K's Mount Fuji Hostel when a girl asked me if by any chance if I was going to a hostel and if it was K's. We both needed to be picked up by their shuttle. Storm as her friends call her is a Torontonian. Once we checked in, we grabbed dinner at a restaurant recommend by the hostel. It was recommended because they serve "chewy noodles" a local specialty. ...

... look very nice for the few minutes that was clear.
We checked in at the hotel which is a traditional Japanese hotel with mats and no shoes in the room. It has it's own hot spring in the basement. We went for a nice soak. The hot spring pools are segregated and no clothes are allowed.
Dinner was traditional Japanese banquet called Kaiseki. It was more of an art display than a meal. Six courses later, we were full. Sake was great. ...

... We arrive in Tori, a small fishing touristy village located on an beautiful bay. By now we have gotten hungry and find a restaurant overlooking Suruga Bay with many small rock formations sticking out from the water. After a nice lunch we continue our trip to our destination, the Winery Hill Hotel which is part of a large winery located in the middle of the Izu Peninsula. We head east just north of Toi, the road is once again narrow and extremely winding. Pretty scenery, kind of like ...
