... Hakone is very much a tourist town, and is known for its food, onsen spas and close proximity to Mt Fuji. A short train trip takes you to a cable car which had 360 degree views of the mountain ranges that included Mt Fuji. We take a boat journey around the lake which is a water filled volcanic crater with a circumference of 18K. We are now making our way to Tokyo by ...

I expect it would have been beautiful under different circumstances but today the odds were certainly not in our ...

Today I headed to mt fuji. It was a 4 and a half hour trip, setting off at 6.30 am and arriving by 11am at my hostel. Having postponed my trip to fuji because of bad weather 3 days ago, I was hoping for a clear day for the best views. At first Fuji was covered by some low hanging clouds but as the day wore on I got lucky again and they gradually dispersed. I decided that the best ...

      Travelling is fun.

... don’t mind the food being brought out quickly, in fact I enjoy this, but the table hasn’t been cleared yet and the table size is compact, making your dinner experience a combination of fine food and tetris. Perhaps they could clear half of the plates and bring the next dish out…..?

Made the most of the Onsen for our last night in this hotel. Tonight the onsen was cooler, which was more relaxing and we could stay in for ...
