... spectacular views of the hillside, river and huge boulders below...think Puffing Billy on steroids! An awesome experience! As dusk fell we headed to a quaint riverside town to witness cormorant fishing. Birds on leashes, diving for fish from ancient looking boats. Our day has started from visiting Himeji-jo castle and grounds, where the Last Samurai was filmed. Unfortunately the castle is under restoration, so we couldn't see its full glory, we saw the restoration process and techniques used to renovate it as well as parts of the castle itself. It's unusual black and white roof is magnificent!

We have taken shinkansen to Okayama from Himeji and visited beautiful ...
