... I reached bridge number 2. This is where it gets good, according to the tourist map at the entrance there was a free-site halfway across the bridge on a teeny tiny island. Score!! Camp to no cost AND having direct access to the bridge at sundown - that meant only one thing: long exposures! Oh the many joys of a camera! Day 2 Breakfast on a wall. A beach below. A bridge above. ... br> On the way to Ikuchijima we have met a Dutch tourist Ming with who we travelled along through the day, so there were four of us cycling along. The route is nicely signed with English names and blue mark on the rode, hoverer we have managed to be lost on the way- lucky enough we had a Japanese guy with us, so he asked locals for the direction.

... Thanksgiving Day, a few of us got together (Brits and Canadians included) and took our feast the Japanese way. KFC. Japan has this silly myth that foreigners eat KFC for Christmas. Because KFC (and now MosBurger, and McDonalds, and…) has a special “Christmas Bucket” that people order. It comes with Christmas Cake (oh, I will get into this in another post) and a commemorative plate. Oh, Japan.

... and the most common, is the “Japan flavor: Sangria” (I was unaware Japan had a flavor, and I doubt it would be sangria if they did). We also found tasty ramen, hot dogs, and French fries (or chips, as I am often corrected).

In this same corner of tasty foods, we also found a group making fresh mochi. As in, they were cooking the rice, pounding it with the giant equivalents of a mortar and pestle, and then forming it into balls and selling it. ...
