... s amazing what bulimia can do when you want to get famous!! As we were eating, the waitress informed us that was a tornado warning and upon leaving the restaurant, we were caught in a spectacular thunder storm which we had never witnessed before! Up early, quick shower and on the road around 8. Drove til 3. Hit a little rain right before Amarillo. Stayed at Walnut RV Park in Vega, TX west of Amarillo. Nice country park, lots of room. ... drive this monster truck and trailer down into it (and by we, I mean Randy). They hook us up with a big site, and like a pro, Randy gets us there and backs in- no pull thru needed tonight. ... 66 itself. Very bumpy in places but hardly any other vehicles on it. We stopped at a few little towns which were hit hard by the fact the roads hardly used. They had some very run down buildings but some great sites and names... Erick and Shamrock to name a few! When we moved on to McLean we stopped at a rather odd museum... The Barbed Wire museum. ... after the meteor crater. We added the photos of the crater in this blog as the last blog was a bit crowded.

Glenrio was a great example of derelict buildings of once thriving communities which were forced to close when the new highway was built. The photos tell the story.

Moving fairly quickly through this section of Texas as it was extremely hot and not a whole lot to see on the actual route ...
