... pioneering. David Hallern, Head of the Orwellian sounding Behavioural Insights Team was being interviewed. It is all about persuading people to do the right thing - even if it isn't what they would naturally want to do - e.g. save more, eat the right food, don't drop litter etc. They reported that a "few" supermarkets had moved candy away from the tills in response - just how inaccurate is that?!

... take Auburn’s picture at the town sign, the post office and the church. She was in her glory! While Kevin made the sandwiches and the kids played at the park (all old wooden playground equipment, I especially liked the old merry go-round), I snapped pictures of this unique little town. It was like stepping back in time. What the village of Auburn lacks in size it makes up for in beauty.
It was an early morning this morning, as we wanted to make an early Coors Brewery tour. As it turned out, the tours started at 10, so we had plenty of time. We parked on the street and caught the shuttle bus, which drove around a bit of Golden, then went to the brewery. It was a self-guided tour, so we just followed the signs and listened to the audio provided. It took about an hour and then we went to the gift shop. Around noon, we headed north on Hwy 25 to ...
... and the people onsite are friendly and non-intrusive. They present their beliefs in a gentle and non-confrontational manner, and live by high moral principles. I can easily see how attractive all this would be for people searching for spiritual insight.
After that, we took a glorious drive along I-80 into Wyoming and through to Nebraska. The ever-changing topography made for some breathtaking sights -- I must have taken ...
... at a saloon (seriously) across the street, only to cross a couple of teenagers 5 minutes later worriedly looking where we had found it. Oops! We told them where we left it and hope we didn't get them busted by dad... something told us by the looks of them they were used to getting busted. Is it bad that after seeing so many cows on this journey we are craving steak?! We are saving the tri-tip dinner for 4th of July, but I'm not sure ...
