... one more party tonight, then we're off in the morning for Salt Lake City, our first 10 hour leg.
But tonight we get to eat off Linda's 10# rainbow she snuck out and caught without us. DANG her hide. She really is our hero though--the Fish Dancer extraordinaire.
Rick's cooking a gourmet feast, the divas are gathering--husbands beware!

... on Lake MacDonald at a closed picnic area, we continued on to the Apgar campground where we settled in for two nights (typical cookie cutter lots) since it was the only open west side spot. Although in retrospect, while touring a ten-plus year forest fire area in the park and looping back through the Flathead National Forest, we found a beautiful campground with sites on the banks of the Flathead River. In the US, National Forests ...

No truck yet

Kalispell is actually starting to feel like home away from home! The mechanic ran into delays, truck won't be ready till Wednesday, so we are catching up with laundry, grocery shopping, haircuts, and resting. Wondering what we'll find when we open up the trailer after this long week. Need to get re-organized before we head west again.
Truck's busted

Victor, ever the worrier (and usually with good reason!), wanted to check out the truck's funny business, so here we are in Kalispell. The Toyota service guy confirmed something about the cylinders and a cracked gasket and parts have to be ordered. It will take a week to get repaired but it's under warranty yet, so we're still smiling. They are ...

a must see!

Glacier National Park is fantastic. The highway, named "Into The Sun
Highway" (exactly what we were doing!), hugs the mountainside, dips
into valleys and brings you up through glorious passes. It's like a 50
km scenic roller coaster ride. Wheeeee!

... much just appears. There is some development and more coming but the Air Force Base and Air Port must use up enough territory to keep things at a minimum. Driving out the north/east side on US-2 is a long slog through tacky urban development equal to SR-436 at its ugliest. We longed for the billboard-free Oregon coastline. Hmmm...Idaho - I ...

... through the crust into a boiling hot pool, and often they mention how many visitors have met their end here. We opt for staying on the trails. Both of us have spent time at this park before, so we stop at just a few locations that catch our eye, snap a few pictures, and continue on our way north, content to just maintain tourist status here since we have bigger adventures ahead. A short drive from Yellowstone takes us to Glacier National Park, where we head up aptly named Going-to-the ...
