Great big room and bathroom. Little balcony overlooking the street. Simple breakfast brought to your door (wow, i don't even have to look presentable for this!) as their breakfast room was being renovated.
Great for a budget traveller. i wish all my hotel rooms were like that!

... That did not stop them from hoping some legal crime in the form of proposing to use Albania as a dumping ground for Syrian chemical weapons. That idea sparked a popular uprising that stopped it. Some local commentators mark these demos as the beginning of "civil society" in Albania where the population is free to mobilize and speak out without fear. It may be that only in the past year or two can we say that real democratic space has opened up. Today you can see posters, ...

I was feeling pretty **** by then as my hayfever had been getting worse and worse all day, so we didn't stay late. After Darren had a couple of drinks and got a video of the band we walked back home. Some of the hostel staff were hanging around and playing chess, so Darren gave one of them a game. I headed up to bed instead though to try sleep off the ...

... by the beaches and condition of the waters here, and were slightly surprised at the praise the area had received after seeing it firsthand. Instead we chose to spend our time in Sarande with the land dwellers. We toured the nearby ruins of the UNESCO City of Butrint, which is cited as one of the most remarkable archaeological sites in the Adriatic Sea Region, and it really didn't disappoint. A vast area speckled with beautifully well-preserved ruins of the port ...

    A change of perpective

... I took another bus into Albania, and met in the way an australian backpaker who was heading tirana just as me. The bus took us to skodar, where we where offered another minibus to tirana. Here is where I already started to feel the change in Albania, being still on the road. First of all, there is no train network in Albania, and the bus network runs irregularly and unnoficially around the country. There are almost not such things as bus stations in ...

... actually but they only cost a few cents. Off to the bank to give to the ducks. Of course, the ducks are down at the far end now. I start to throw the seeds to the cygnet and the man yells no and comes over and quacks at the ducks who start coming towards me. Guess the seeds were only for the ducks. Back inside for a bathroom break and a coffee and then back to the car for the rest of ...
