Great big room and bathroom. Little balcony overlooking the street. Simple breakfast brought to your door (wow, i don't even have to look presentable for this!) as their breakfast room was being renovated.
Great for a budget traveller. i wish all my hotel rooms were like that!

Usually a big museum is a great place to duck into for a few hours on a hot day, but the National Museum of Albania doesn’t have air conditioning. And it was a very hot day. The museum was actually very interesting covering most of Albanian history from prehistoric times through the Communist era, but nothing is in English.

We were going to try to make it to another listener’s house, but because of rules set by her husband and in-laws (non-believers) she was not allowed to have ...

The showing was another bunch of short films, all from the Balkan area. A lot of them were actually pretty dark and depressing, and a lot to do with the fall of the Greek economy and the effects its had on its inhabitants, but there were a few funny gems in there to even it out a bit! ... garbage and modern infrastructure such as power lines and satellite dishes took away from the historical value of the city.

We enjoyed our short time in Albania, the old buildings combined with the beautiful scenery was well worth the short stop.

Up next, an even smaller Eastern European country.

We had heard pretty crazy things about Albania, a lot of people were like 'are you taking a gun' etc so was a little nervous. Apparently there is a large black market trade going on. Stolen cars come by the dozen- if you want a cheap Merc, come here they are EVERYWHERE! Once we got there though it all seemed fine, you can defiantly see some people have lots of money- sweet cars etc, and they don't really have much to export so how they get the money ...
