Our trip began at Brisbane International Airport - thanks Tammy for the lift. The Airport was a little cold (but expected). We made a couple of last minute purchases - English - German dictionary, and found our credit card wouldn't work! Our first worry. We figured it must have been the bank with the issue, as when we tried the net site, it was …
Today I spent the day in Frankfurt. It was Carnival so there was lots going on downtown and there was a parade. I walked around, watched the parade and had a nice German lunch. Nancy, you will be happy to know I was wearing a full face of makeup and bright red lipstick and I got asked on a date but I politely declined. Now I am on the train headed to Berlin. So far it's quite nice. We are passing through all kinds of cute little towns and farming villages. ...
... I have ever travelled with this and that is saying something. Since the Us has a lot of really ****** airlines. After 16 hours I finally arrived in Frankfurt. I am happy to be here and enjoying a nice dinner. Tomorrow I'm going to hang out in Frankfurt then I am taking the train to Berlin tomorrow ...
... a busy, fun filled few days if arrival was anything to go by. For the festival we had decided to stay with TopDeck tours on a camping site about 30 minutes from the centre of town. Using the directions given to us we trudged off to the Metro, boarded the train and about 15 minutes later exited the station. From here we could see signs that led travellers to the huge campsite that every tour group tends to use. There were signs for PP Travel, ...
... the most interesting exhibits because it contained manufacturers which tune cars like Brabus and Alpina which take Mercedes and BMW cars and tune them. They basically takes a normal luxury car and double the price! Some of the cars were so ridiculous like a Smart car that costs 50,000 Euros or a 6 wheeled Mercedes pickup truck for over 550,000 Euros! There were a number of other companies that tuned the odd Porsche, Ferrari and Lamborghini as well!
We finally found ...

Historical Traveler Reviews BEST WESTERN Premier IB Hotel Friedberger Warte Frankfurt
we stayed at the Hotel Friedberger Warte for 6 nights and as we booked it via the internet we were a bit worried, but we were very very pleasently surprised , it was lovely , the room was very clean, modern, room service came every day and left it spotless, the breakfast was excellent, great choice, the hotel is about 10 minutes outside of the city , but a bus stop is just across the road and the bus takes you straight to a main underground/train station which connects to lots of places including the airport,
Great value and service
stayed here for 3 nights in a double room with my wife, excellent price on easyhotels.com - staff friendly and helpful, upgraded to a bigger room for 10 euro per night, payable at reception - enjoyed the walk into frankfurt which took about 30 mins - used the bus also which was very convenient - the breakfast was super the hotel was spotless and had a nice modern feel - the restaurant was a good standard, would come back anytime
Wow great hotel!
my husband and I stayed at the Friedberger Warte in October of this year. It was a great hotel. Exceptionally clean and very modern. The staff at the desk was very helpful. We ate at the hotel in "Alexander" and the food was terrific, and the staff in the restaurant were great. The hotel is a bit out of the centre, but the bus takes you there in about 15 minutes, and the bus stop is literally across the street. We really enjoyed this hotel and the staff, who were all so personable. I would definitely stay here again.
Very nice hotel
we'vw stayed for 7 nights to this hotel and it was a pleasent stay. we were a bit concerned that it will be too far from centre but it wasn't. the bus 30 it stops just across the hotel and from there in 5min you are at the stop Zeil [the shopping area]. the stuff was nice, towells changed daily, breakfast very good, in the night was very quiet even that the hotel was almost full.
Great Hotel just outside Ziel shopping area
We stayed for two nights at the Friedberger Warte Hotel in Frankfurt lat May 2006 and were extremely happy. Very clean, pleasant decor - quite location a short bus ride from the main shopping area of Ziel. Price through Hotelclub was great. Would stay here again.
I thought this hotel was great. We were worried about the location but it was perfect - only a 15 min. bus ride into the center of town. The hotel was really nice and modern. The service was great.
We stayed at this hotel for one night after flying to Frankfurt. The rooms were clean, bright, fresh, and comfortable. The hotel looks like it is pretty new. They had free parking in the back of the hotel, but only had a limited number of spaces. Our room was a good size, and had central air conditioning. The windows also opened. The bathroom was clean and spacious. There was a full sized bathtub, and the walls were covered in floor to ceiling white tile, which made the bathroom look really modern. The hotel is located near a north of the city center. We walked down to the Main River and city center, but I think it was about 2-3 miles, one direction. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet. There was plenty to choose from. I really liked this hotel, and feel like we got a good deal for the price.
As a travel agent I have stayed in many hotels, but this one is by far the best in terms of service that my family and I have had the pleasure of staying in. Upon arrival, we were greated by 5 staff who were falling over each other trying to help, and this was the tone of the stay - nothing was too much trouble for the staff.
The food and drink were also terrific.
A wonderfull hotel and highly recommended.
We stayed at the Friedberger Hotel for 4 nights. The hotel was very new (opened Aug 05) Modern, Clean, staff very helpful and easy transport to the city centre. We had to attend Messe Fair & getting there was very easy. Catching Bus #30 right out the front, enabled you to be right in the city centre within 10 mins. Buses left every 10 mins and went until Midnight. The Breakfast was very extensive and dinning at night was also good. The Friedberger Warte Castle across the road is also good for a typical German meal. With the room rate being reasonable.. Compared to some of the more over priced hotels closer to the city centre that don't even offer the same standards. Save your self some money and stay here and just catch the bus or taxi it to the city.. its only 4kms away.. or walk.. ? you will not be disappointed. Cheers.. Marguerite
