... was dancing on the tables! A fun time was had by all.

Today we relaxed on the beach and swam in the ocean, I think we're gonna have a hard time getting back to our old ways of living!! ha ha. Hopefully the weather is nice tomorrow as we want to go to the beach again and head down to the local markets.

We leave in a few days to Surfers Paradise/Gold Coast and we are hoping the sun gods continue to smile upon us!
Byron Bay, New South Wales, Australia brettandjen... on our way to Brisbane (where we flew out of the next day)
Again the weather was poor so it was just a quick stop to say we saw it-we ventured onto the famous beach there with the skyscrappers overlooking it-it did seem a cool beach and would be savage on a good day-the rest of Surfers seemd to be all bars and shops-we ahd a quick stroll around and took some pics before heading back to our Colleen and driving onto Brisbane.
We just made Brisbane in time before ...
Byron Bay, New South Wales, Australia sharor... after doing a small risk analysis of this situation I think it would be advisable to get the hell out of the water now!' I have to agree. Think I may have irritated all the other girls in the dorm by turning all the lights on and derobing and having a shower at 3 in the morning, oops. Good job I am up in 3 hours to never see them again. Say goodbye to everyone again, this sucks, as they are going off to their Fraser island trip. Boo I would love to do Fraser again.

Byron Bay, New South Wales, Australia doone...

Byron Bay, New South Wales, Australia verenao... How wrong I was. Although Marcus is indeed a former public schoolboy he does know about cricket and is in fact German, not English as I'd supposed by his posh accent. He gained my friendship in two ways. First he told me his dad used to be the CEO of the largest chocolate company in Germany and once gave him a palate of chocolate as a gift (about the size of a bungalow apparently) and secondly, without prompting, he offered me equal shares in his stash of Castlemain lager ...
Byron Bay, New South Wales, Australia dantheeducatorAccording to our guide book we had reached the promised land, and even in the drizzle Byron had something about it. It is a geographically spectacular bay that has been taken over by hippies and travellers. Although it has become a bit more commercialised in recent years (so we were told), the bay still retains a certain rerlaxed vibe. On checking in to the backpackers we were staying at, we were told the place was ...
Byron Bay, New South Wales, Australia willandluce... path meandered through the forest where the air was thick and humid. The views were spectacular though and worth every drop of sweat! On our final day in Byron we had a 4 hour surf lesson, which was awesome. We were driven 20 minutes out of Byron to a calm bay perfect for beginners to learn to surf. Despite the lashing rain we still both managed to stand up and ride the waves back to ...
Byron Bay, New South Wales, Australia jz2009... got 4 litres of something stronger for $10, but you have to have some standards. On the way back we witnessed the aftermath of an RTA. An old man stripped to the waste emerged from the trees along the beach yelling "I new it would happen, look what you've done" and pulling at his hair , a woman was stood at the side of the road saying she was sorry. Another woman ran out of a building opposite and picked up a small ...
Byron Bay, New South Wales, Australia yvetteandjack... and we chat and drinks for a bit, then head out to the Beach Hotel for beer. And finally onto the worlds cheesiest backpackers club/bar where the music is cheesy but the beer cold. We dance there until i can take it no more and we leave about 1 and go back to the hostel to sleep off one of the best days of my life. I will never forget this experience, it was a 5 star experience. (Video to follow, I havent got it yet but will post the link when the sky dive team put it up!)
Ballina, New South Wales, Australia clairebr... strip with shops and restaurants, and the arguably the best fish and chips on Oz (well of course we had to try!) They were pretty good! (we won't make it a habit!) The beach was absolutely beautiful and not far from the famous Lighthouse which is the most easterly point in Australia! So we trekked up there in the day and walked back along the beach, but better yet we took a trip there one morning for the sunrise, (we apologise for the ...
