      ... harbour was beautiful to walk around. We got a really great deal in the beach campsite - 4 nights for the price of 3 in a cabin (addicted now) and just had a relaxed few days, lots of work, surfing and managed to catch up with Claudia and Pete - old friends of Rob’s.       We arrived in Byron Bay on the Friday so we could be there for the weekend and got there at around 2/3pmish. We had heard a lot of good things about Byron, mainly that it was a very chilled out, surf/hippy town and it was pretty much just that!       Ballina is only 15 minutes to Byron Bay, so we packed up the camper and headed straight there. Byron's reputation precedes it and it is well known for being full of 'cool surfers' and 'quirky hippies'.
