At Ise Jingu the Kami-sama is Amaterasu, the sun goddess and the supposed ancestor of the line of emperors in Japan. It is her enshrinement here which makes Ise Jingu so important to the Japanese people. Every year, even the imperial family visits Ise Jingu to pay their respects to Amaterasu Kami-sama.

After the museum it was time to see some real ninja in action. As part of tourist attraction, the local Ninja put on a demonstration of Ninja skills and martial arts. It was a little bit tongue in cheek but very enjoyable none the less. I particularly enjoyed the shuriken throwing demonstration.
