... roads made for driving before we hit..Germany. And the world slowed down. Autobahn? Don't make me laugh. Every time we hit a German motorway we slowed to a virtual halt. I was looking forward to driving at 120mph but never got past 90mph and then only for a couple of minutes. We'd hit no traffic at all until we hit Germany. Hence we only spent a couple of hours looking around before ...

After a brief traverse of a narrow part of Austria, we were finally back in Germany and eventually made it back to Lindau. It was a very long day of driving!

The hotel had warned us that they didn't have a parking space that we could rent for tonight, so we parked in ...

... set out for our first stop in Tyrol, the town of Reutte. We were able to find a vignette easily at the first gas station in Austria; they sell them for 10 days or one year. We went with the cheap one.

After some nice driving on both freeways and secondary roads, with beautiful scenery all around, we arrived at our stop outside of Reutte. We wanted to visit some ruins on a hill outside of town called Burgruine Ehrenberg. It was a heavy fortification ...
