    ... It was built in 1601 by a Mr Phelps who was the chief prosecutor in the Guy Fawkes trial.

    We had a great lunch in The King's Arms Inn before the visit which allowed us to walk off the lunch in the house and gardens. I loved the garden with its wonderful borders of plants etc

    ... to Scotland, but the first item on the agenda is the weather - will it be sunny and warm, or chilly and wet? We've decided to assume the worst and pack all of our wet weather clothes, whilst leaving the shorts and t-shirts behind. Only time will tell if we made the right decision.

    Yesterday morning, our departure day, retired Frank had to go to work for another conference call with Israel. I spent a lot of time watering plants after the heavy rain failed to appear. Karen drove us to the airport. We had an uneventful trip (the best kind) to London via Dulles, altho I had a lot of trouble sleeping and arrived exhausted.
