Day 24
... area the Cubans settled after they fled to the US to escape Castro's regime. It is famous for the cigars it manufactures as well as the extremely strong coffee. We tried both - kidding! While Paul tried to convince me Cuban cigars were a good idea :P we just had coffee.
We ended the afternoon with a boat tour, Miami has a bunch of man-made islands including Fisher Island with mammoth condo's in which Oprah and Tom Cruise have residences. Star ...
2nd Corner Accomplished
Took off around 8ish, no hurry to go anywhere. We knew we had a 3 hour trip in front of us this morning just to get to Key West. Beautiful ride down there. We had programed Hog's Breathe Saloon into the GPS and she (Karen) took us right there. Had a little bit of a problem finding somewhere to park down there, but we managed. Day 5
Today we went to the Everglades. This was the highlight of our Miami trip. We went on an airboat ride through swamp followed by an alligator wrestling demonstration.
The airboat ride was fantastic. The swamp is stuffed full of fish, turtles, alligators and birds. An eight foot long alligator swam right up to the side of the boat next to Alison. Apparently they can jump in to the boat. ...
