... unfortunately the falls weren't as spectacular as they are known to be. Still, I enjoyed the hike and views. I took a side detour as well and checked out the mountain cave water curtain. This cave was man-made when road workers were digging to make more roads, they hit an underground river and stopped making this tunnel system. Makes for a really cool walk and beautiful travertine along the sides of the cave.

... teaching programs were concluded after Dong He and Jia Li, I was welcomed to stay with a fellow family on the program for an extra week. They had immigrated to the U.S, and had raised their children in New Jersey. However, every year they return to visit family in the capital Taibei and the metropolis of Tainan.

... unexpected. We then decided the best way to go sightseeing to Taroko Gorge was to hire a taxi for the day. We ultimately saw more sights, did far more walking and was able to go at our own pace.
