      ... wet- this one wasn't like the ones at home!! I got absolutely drenched!! We'd taken our bag on the ride (had all our valuables) with us because, again, that's what happens on the ones at home- lucky the bag's waterproof because that too got soaked despite my efforts to cover it with my body.       ... beach was lovely and the sun boiling so we tried to go for a swim. The line of scum and rubbish was enough to keep me out , let alone the sign which said, ' do not swim due to red tides,' which are blooms or red algae toxic to fish. We moved on to a beach closer to the hostel, Repulse bay, which did not live up to its name as it was actually very nice.       ... and science scores are 130, 70, and 80 points ahead of us, respectively (to put it into perspective, the highest score of any is 630 points). That's a pretty impressive leap, and I can see why people are concerned, and why people are frantically searching for a way to solve this "problem". I can tell you how--it's simple, and it's what Asian schools do (I wish I could say that's a generalization--it's not).

      ... we met are just on to Singapore so we don't say much about being on for 50 days but we had supper with a couple from Vancouver who are on until Rome, 65 days! So far we have only met 2 people who, like us, are first time cruisers. There are die ********g time cruisers on board. So far all is going great, there is lots to do on the ship, food is great and we certainly don't do the drink menu ...

      ... a bit early getting here and a lot of the stalls are still being erected for the nights trading. We stop at a small restaurant for fish and chips whilst we wait for them all to open up. Not exactly 'fish and chips' either but rice although we did have a couple of nice pieces of fried fish in batter. Appetites satisfied for the time being we set out into the chaos of the street market that sells things you didnt even know that you needed. ...
