A snowy wonderland

... snow and how the public transport was completely unaffected - a far cry from the UK where a hint of ice brings the Edinburgh trams to a halt! There are shards of ice hanging off the overhead rails here and they just get on with it! We wandered around Zurich, visiting Sprrüngli (the infamous chocolate boutique) and attempted to visit a beer bar but got kicked out because we didn't want food haha. Back at the apartment it's still snowing (eeeeepp!) and we settle in ...

... t a bad deal for Zurich. After dinner we walked some more, even checking out the local grocery stores. In hind sight, we should have bought some chocolate and snacks because the next morning before getting on the train all the grocery stores were closed. Brittany even let me get a beer for the ...

... No other details were given but it didn't sound good. We asked the man sitting next to us if this had happened before and he replied that it happened all the time. How sad! Soon after we were told that the train would terminate at the next station and we would have to find alternative transport. So we hailed our first London cab, although it wasn't a black one. Our hotel is in one of those lovely terraced houses in Kensington, full of ...

Bound for Milan, we left the campsite late morning after giving Larz a much needed wash to get rid of all the sap and leavy tree stuff that had covered him over our 5 days in Nice.

We were treated to a picturesque drive round the Riviera, behind Monaco and followed the coast of Italy, before turning to head inland to Milan. With the price of diesel high in the troubled economy, we we're lucky not to have to stop for ...
