Awake at 0600 dressed, breakfast & left at 0830 for our morning trip to Salzburg. And sunshine as we leave Innsbruck. As we leave onto motorway there is quite a blockage on the oncoming side ( fortunately ) trucks ++ probably due to a religious holiday tomorrow. Trucks are not permitted on highway on weekends or public holidays. We arrived in Salzburg 10am after a short toilet stop just before. As we were too early to check into our hotel we met a ...

Luckily the old town suffered very little damage through the Second World War. Most bombs fell on the new town, so most buildings there are ...

The hills are alive with the sound of music!! Salzburg begun with a night walking tour around this area of Austria. Snow peaked mountains surrounded us as we viewed some filming locations most identified to the movie based on the Von Trapp family. Dinner allowed us to try some of the more traditional Austrian food, pork schnitzel and dumplings, while we got into the local spirit of beer drinking! After dinner, we tried ...

... the doors wide open to hear the rain coming down on the cobblestone streets looking out into the town square. We then walked a couple of blocks to a recommended restaurant, where Becky ordered her second night of Weinerschnitzel, declaring the first night a close winner to the second. We enjoyed a final nightcap back at the small bar, slept in just a bit, and was on the road for Slovenia after breakfast.

    One last stop ...
